Child With Lukemia Meets Soccer Hero

Brendan Galanaugh, who has Lukemia, has a very special day when he meets soccer star Landon Donovan and gets invited to a LA Galaxy practice and gets tickets to attend a home game. Make a Wish Foundation and Landon Donovan teamed up to make his dream come true.

Donovan scored two goals in the game that Brendan attended. At the end of the game he gave him his jersey and told him he was a good luck charm. Brendan's Lukemia is in remission at this time and he is participating in soccer and baseball. To read a related story click here.

Making a Difference
I am so encouraged to see athletes like Donovan giving back to others in meaningful ways. Let's hope we hear of more athletes doing the same thing.
